Innovacorp & CDL Collaborate on Ocean Startup Project
In the quest to increase the number of ocean startups, Canada’s Ocean Supercluster is collaborating with Innovacorp and Creative Destruction Lab along with four other funding/support organizations. The Ocean Startup Project will invest $6.8M to continue to build Atlantic Canada as one of the best places for ocean startups.
Local Universities Compete in ENACTUS Exposition
ENACTUS, an international organization which focuses on supporting students interested in social entrepreneurship, is set to hold its regional championship in the Innovation District. Eighteen student teams will gather on Mar 19-20 to compete for slots in the ENACTUS National Exposition.
Design Thinking Workshop
Learn about design thinking fundamentals in this highly interactive, two-day workshop. Hosted by Digital Nova Scotia and 1000 Days Out, the workshop will cover topics like empathy mapping, user research methods, and ideation and product roadmapping.
Ceridian Taps into Halifax Talent
Global HR technology company, Ceridian HCM Holding Inc., has announced plans to create 2,000 new jobs across Canada. Halifax was chosen along with other Canadian cities to accelerate their hiring plan - attracting new talent from engineering, research and development and consulting.“Canadian universities produce outstanding talent that can compete with the best and the brightest anywhere in the world, ” said Ozzie Goldschmied, CTO, Ceridian.
SMU Hosts Venture Capital Investment Competition
