Ocean Supercluster Unveils $29M Ocean Aware Project
Last week, Canada’s Ocean Supercluster in collaboration with industry partners announced a $29 million Ocean Aware Project to develop and commercialize world-class aquaculture technology to monitor fish health, fish movement and environment, and also support both profitable and sustainable practices in the ocean. The project is expected to have three areas of focus: new sensor design for safe tracking of fish movement; data transmission from marine sensors to storage systems; and developing an artificial intelligence software to help visualize and predict fish behavior.
Local Dictation Software Company Releases Apple Version
Halifax-based, Talkatoo has released an Apple iOS version of its revolutionary dictation software for veterinary professionals. The company currently has under 200 users and recently closed a founding round of $400,000 with local VC firm, Concrete Ventures. “Our current users, in a lot of cases, have an Apple computer at home but a PC at the office, or vice versa. Our whole vision is to be a cross-platform product, so they can seamlessly move from office to home. Now our vision is becoming a reality,” said CEO Shawn Wilkie
