On the heels of successful pilots with Rimot, Haligone, Kangaroo and AllEV, the Halifax Innovation Outpost is launching two new pilot projects with Halifax-based startups Harbr and Tranquility.

Through the Halifax Innovation Outpost’s City as a Living Lab initiative, the startups will partner with Halifax Partnership Investors and other established companies and organizations to be early adopters of their products and provide the founders with feedback. This mutually beneficial relationship will enable private sector partners to serve customers, clients, and employees in new ways, while at the same time helping local startups develop, iterate, and succeed.

Tranquility offers pathways to better mental health by delivering gold-standard Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) digitally on a client’s computer or phone. Using Tranquility, people and organizations can better manage their stress and mood through an interactive and comprehensive program, self-directed or with the support of a coach over video, phone, or in-app messaging.

Harbr is FinTech for Construction and Development projects focused on creating the least disruptive route of existing processes to prompt payments for the construction industry in a mutually beneficial way, matching work to invoices, automating the accounts receivables process, and streamlining approvals.

Companies and organizations interested in piloting these technologies can contact Miriam Zitner, Vice President of the Halifax Innovation District, at mzitner@halifaxpartnership.com.

The Halifax Innovation Outpost collaborates with founders to help startups and scaleups pilot, evolve, and bring products and services to market. The Halifax Innovation Outpost is an initiative of the Halifax Innovation District which is supported by the Halifax Regional Municipality, Halifax Partnership, and the Province of Nova Scotia.
