Halifax-based Clean Valley Bio-Filtration Technologies CIC is collaborating with bio industry partners to create an innovative filter for bio-masks which is expected to be cost-effective, nature-inspired, and non-toxic, making them sustainable and efficient. Their solution will support the fight against the current pandemic as well as other diseases. “Our goal would be to create an antivirus solution, a liquid biofilm that could be applied to any form of PPE here. Co-Working Spaces Reopen to Startups

Last week, Atlantic Canada’s leading innovation hub, Volta resumed operations to allow paying members access their shared working space for the first time since COVID-19. After offering free services since January, local social enterprise startup vLife which supports users find small businesses has rolled out their paid version. Their mobile-friendly website is designed to give marketing services to help small businesses reach their target customers. “Because we have a growing number of ‘buy local’ and ‘experience local’ followers, you’re going to get a more engaged lead than you would typically on a Facebook ad, for example,” said Co-Founder Melanie Little.
