SONA collaborates with Maxim Group for NASDAQ Listing
After a surge in stocks last week, Halifax-based nanoparticle technology company, Sona Nanotech has engaged Maxim Group, LLC in relation to its planned application to list the Company’s common shares on the NASDAQ. The company also announced that strategic adviser, David Regan will run the company working closely with the executive team.
Dal Computer Grads Hits All-Time High
Dalhousie University saw an increase of 26% in the number of Computer Science graduates last year. At their Winter 2020 Convocation, the Faculty of Computer Science awarded 260 bachelor and graduate degrees, 30% of which were to women. “There’s a dynamic where you grow the [talent] pool, and it satisfies your demand, but it also creates more demand by attracting more companies and more growth in the companies that are here, which is great for Nova Scotia,” said Dean Andrew Rau-Chaplin
Cribcut Pivots & Rebrands Amid COVID-19
Local startup Cribcut, known for its Software enabled platform for mobile hair stylists has rebranded as Bright with a new addition of personal wellness and fitness services to its platform. Bright will offer online services to remote workers as well as on-site services where local social distancing guidelines permit. “With Cribcut, like startups do, we’ve gone through a few iterations of the business model. And it became obvious after each iteration that we made, that Cribcut the brand made less and less sense,” said CEO David Howe
Humetis Expands to Halifax, 150 Jobs to be Created
Global technology firm, HuMetis technology has announced plans to launch an expansion in Halifax which could bring up to 150 jobs. The multinational company which develops software and provides IT support for organizations like Cisco is expanding with the help of the Nova Scotia Business Development Initiative (NSBI) program.
